Alviero Martini
Alviero Martini is the name of the designer of the classic 1A Classe line.
His first creation, a suitcase decorated with an old map, appears in the window of a shop in Rome in 1987. From there, the idea of starting a line of handbags and luggage with the same pattern called 1A Classe. In the nineties the 1A Classe line of fashion products comes to international fame and the American press talk about Alviero Martini as a Style Maker, creator of 'a new travel concept'.
In 1996 the boutique Alviero Martini opened in Via Montenapoleone in Milan hosted Richard Gere and an exhibition of twenty photographs taken in Tibet and, in 1997, the UN Commission assigned Martini the task of creating an outfit at the awards ceremony Time for Peace in New York.
In 2006, Alviero Martini launches line ALV (an acronym for Go Away Travelling) bags, accessories and clothes, marked by the reason of passport stamps, for which he won the prize in 2010 The Look of the Year Fashion Awards.
